Fall is hunting season around Capitol Reef. Utah's general-season rifle deer hunt runs Oct 17-25 and the muzzleloader elk hunt runs Oct 28-Nov 5, making this a comfortable base after a day in the field. Crisp days and quiet trails also make it a great time to explore Capitol Reef National Park.

ACCESS

Your cabin is fully private, with its own exterior entrance, bathroom, sleeping space, Roku TV and dedicated heating and cooling.

Outdoor amenities are shared with guests in the other cabins and suites: the year-round hot tub, fire pit, lighted sport court, playground and patio with grill and Blackstone.

The lodge interior isn't included, so there's no access to the commercial kitchen, dining hall, game room, laundry room or indoor gathering areas. Parking on site fits vehicles, trailers and outdoor gear, and fast WiFi covers the property.

HOST INTERACTION

You'll have complete privacy during your stay. Our team manages the property remotely and is always available by message, and local support is available when needed.

NEIGHBORHOOD OVERVIEW

The cabin sits along UT-24 in Lyman, in the heart of Wayne County, often called Wayne Wonderland.

✔ Capitol Reef National Park, a short drive away: scenic drives, slot canyons, orchards, petroglyphs and hikes like Hickman Bridge, Cassidy Arch, Grand Wash and the historic Fruita district

✔ Fish Lake: fishing, boating, kayaking, wildlife viewing and cool summer temperatures

✔ Thousand Lake Mountain and Boulder Mountain: sweeping views, quiet trails, high-country lakes and some of Utah's best fall colors

✔ Torrey, Loa, Bicknell and Lyman: restaurants, cafes, shops and outfitters

Wayne County is a designated dark sky region, and many guests say they've never seen the Milky Way so clearly.

TRANSIT & GETTING AROUND

The cabin is just off UT-24, and most guests arrive by car. There's no public transportation and rideshare is limited, so a personal vehicle is strongly recommended. On-site parking fits vehicles, trailers and outdoor gear.

‼️SPECIAL NOTES‼️

PLEASE NOTE: This is a sleeping cabin only. There is no kitchen, kitchenette, or living room. The cabin includes a queen bed and a double-over-double bunk, a private bathroom with towels and basic toiletries, heating and A/C, and a TV. Guests staying in this unit do not have access to the commercial kitchen, dining hall, game room, or indoor lodge spaces.

Guest verification is required before arrival to ensure a smooth check‑in and protect both guests and the property. The cabin and outdoor areas are cleaned thoroughly and treated regularly, but this is a rural mountain and desert environment. Occasional bugs inside are possible. Keeping doors closed and food sealed helps reduce this.

Wildlife is common in the area. You may see deer, elk, birds, or other local animals around the property. Children must be supervised at all times when using the playground, sport court, hot tub, fire pit, or any outdoor amenities. Weather and seasonal conditions may affect outdoor features.

The hot tub is available year round. Please use it responsibly and follow posted guidelines. For safety and quiet enjoyment, exterior security cameras monitor the property’s entry points and outdoor common areas.

Reviews

Guests say it best.

Loved that the place was clean. Very spacious and thanks for having a baby play pen for my 10 month old. Definitely recommend this place.

Perfect place for a few days in Salt Lake City! Walkable, clean, comfortable, great amenities including washer/dryer, parking and gym.

Maureen, guest, Salt Lake City (Airbnb)

This was a great apartment. South facing for good sunshine on the patio and top floor so no one above you. Beds were good and kitchen well stocked with utensils. Covered parking a big perk.
